Ceiling Fan Installation in Lawrenceville, GA

New fan where there was only a light - or no box at all - plus replacements, high-ceiling installs and rated outdoor fans for covered porches. Balanced, quiet, and safely supported.

A ceiling fan looks like a simple swap until you're on the ladder. The box has to be fan-rated to carry the moving load, the wiring has to support the switching you want, and a fan that isn't balanced or securely mounted will wobble, hum and loosen over time.

What we install

  • Replace an existing fan with a new one
  • Add a fan where there's currently a light fixture
  • Add a fan where there's no ceiling box at all — running the circuit and cutting in a fan-rated box
  • Fan-rated / saddle box upgrades so the mount is code-compliant
  • High and vaulted ceilings, with downrods sized for the room
  • Outdoor-rated (damp / wet) fans for covered patios, porches and pergolas
  • Separate wall controls for fan speed and light, or smart/remote controls
  • Fan repair — wobble, noise, failed pull chains, dead capacitors, remote issues

Why the box matters

A standard lighting box is rated for a static fixture weight, not the dynamic load of spinning blades. Fan-rated boxes are labeled and are secured to the framing or to a listed brace bar between joists. If your ceiling has a plain box, we replace it — this is the single most important part of a safe fan install.

Getting the switching right

If you want independent control of the fan and the light from the wall, the box usually needs a second switch leg. We'll tell you before we start whether your existing wiring supports that or whether we need to pull an extra conductor, and we can also set you up with a smart fan control.

Sizing and placement

Blade span should match the room (roughly 44–52 inches for a typical bedroom, larger for great rooms), blades should sit 8–10 feet off the floor and at least 18–24 inches from any wall, and on high ceilings a longer downrod brings the fan into the zone where it actually moves air on you.

FAQ

Ceiling Fan Installation in Lawrenceville, GA — Questions

Can you install a ceiling fan where there is no existing wiring?

Yes. We run a new circuit from a nearby power source, add a wall switch, and cut in a fan-rated box. It is more involved than a swap but very common in bedrooms and sunrooms.

My ceiling fan wobbles. Is that dangerous?

A small wobble is usually a balance or blade issue and is fixable. A significant wobble often means the box is not fan-rated or has loosened - that should be corrected promptly.

Can I put a regular ceiling fan on my covered porch?

No. Outdoor locations need a damp-rated fan (covered porch) or wet-rated fan (exposed). Indoor fans corrode and fail outside, and it is a code issue.

How high a ceiling can you handle?

Two-story great rooms and vaulted ceilings are routine for us. We bring the right lift and size the downrod so the fan hangs at an effective height.
